AMSA - Islam and the West: Conflict or Relevance?

Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on “Islam and the West: Conflict or Relevance?” - an event exploring the relationship between Islamic values and contemporary Western society. In a time of growing social, political, and cultural debate, this panel will examine whether Islam and the West are truly in conflict, or whether Islamic teachings continue to offer relevance and solutions within modern Western life.

Speakers

Sabahat Karim is a missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who has served in Africa and the UK for over 15 years. He currently serves as Regional Youth Leader and has extensive experience engaging with students and young people on questions surrounding faith, identity, and modern society.

Danish Junaid Ahmad is a missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who graduated in Theology and Modern Languages and became one of Britain’s youngest Imams. He regularly speaks on Islam, community engagement, and the role of religion in contemporary Western society.

Hafiz Ghulam Mustafa Kamran is an international lawyer, legal and theological scholar, and a PhD candidate at Durham Law School. His work combines legal, academic, and theological perspectives, contributing to contemporary discussions on religion, society, and coexistence in the modern West.

The event will include a live Q&A session and refreshments, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers in an open and respectful environment.

Whether you are curious about Islam, interested in current affairs, or simply looking for meaningful discussion, all are welcome to attend.
