Like many of the important decisions Your SU makes, our campaigns are run by elected officers who champion change at the University of Sunderland. They aim to create awareness, advocate for change, and bring about positive outcomes that benefit the whole student community.
Free period products are now available at various locations across both Sunderland campuses, following campaigning by President: Wellbeing 23/24 Oladimeji Adepoju (Prince), Your SU and numerous students and societies.
But this has only been secured on a trial basis throughout Semester 2, so we need your feedback and support to help us keep this service going! Please consider filling in this survey to let us know your thoughts: https://sunduni.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_24suTUs3E5BbBgq
Your SU campaigns 2025/26 led by your President: Sunderland, Ade Adeoye.
Student voice in graduations:
We will work with the University to ensure that students shape their graduation celebrations.
We will build on previous work to introduce the student consultation framework, to ensure that current students are involved in the planning of graduation celebration activities, so that their graduation day reflects their achievements during their time at university here. We will work with the University to ensure that communications reach students effectively.
Guaranteed affordable housing:
We will strive to have guaranteed affordable housing for international students.
We want to see that all international students are guaranteed an affordable place to live when they start their studies here. We will do that through working with the University to ensure that student population growth keeps pace with affordable housing availability locally (for all students who need it). We will also continue to support national lobbying to scrap the requirement for guarantors.
Inclusive spaces off campus:
We will build relationships with local venues and community spaces to increase the accessibility of the city.
We will introduce Your SU recommends list working with local venues, to encourage good practice in accessibility, inclusion, student wellbeing, and community cohesion.
And we’d love to hear your ideas too, however big or small!

Or you can suggest an idea on our ‘Change It!’ platform! If it gets enough votes of support from your fellow students, we can help you with the next steps to develop it into a full campaign!
