Your Communities

We want every student to feel part of a community and have the student experience they want to have. As a union for students, our Student Leaders are essential in making this happen.

We use the principles of community organising to support students to create meaningful connections that can lead to impactful change and life-long friendships. Whatever your interests and time available, we have something for you!

Events

We support regular and one-off events, to help you unwind from your studies and build your social circle.

Pizza and Games

Every Tuesday evening, our SU Crew host this free social event in Your SU @ Riverside (St Peter’s Campus), with a variety of games and pizza included.

Forum

Your Officers host a forum 2-3 times a year, which is a great chance to find out about their work and ask questions, and network with other students.

Free food and drink are provided to help you develop your connections and save a few pennies.

Want to host your own event?

Want to celebrate something or just bring people together over food or a particular interest?

Your SU staff can support you to hold a community event for students on and off campus.

Funding is even available through the Student Communities Fund.

Academic Communities

Your Student Communities Officers lead on initiatives to build a sense of community within your faculty and address issues as they occur.

They work together with Student Voice Reps, Course Reps and Academic Societies, to hold networking events and push for improvements to the academic experience.

If you want to get more involved in your academic community, look out for events or get in touch with your representatives. You could even become a representative yourself and help build your academic community!
