Can't see the Society you're looking for? You can set up your own in a few simple steps!
Starting your own society is a great way to build your own community and help like-minded students get together at the University. You'll also gain lots of transferable skills that sound great to employers and make friends for life along the way!

*Your SU recommends that you reach out to any such existing societies in advance of applying as a new society, to determine whether there would be a conflict or if you could incorporate your ideas into the existing society.
Please note that new society applications may be paused at any point of the year during busy periods to help staff provide the best support for societies that are already registered.
Academic, or course-based, societies are student-led groups which are aligned with a particular course or faculty at the University! You can set up an Academic Society for your course in exactly the same way as any other society and we'd encourage you to speak to your tutors and lecturers about ways to promote your society and share ideas.
