This three-hour interactive session provides a practical introduction to community organising and the Citizens UK methodology. Designed for students who want to make a difference on the issues they care about, it offers a whistle-stop tour of the key ideas, skills and approaches used to build collective power and create change.
Through discussion, stories and interactive exercises, participants will explore how community organising helps people turn shared concerns into action, build meaningful relationships and develop their leadership. The session will be tailored to the Students’ Union context, with a focus on practical application and opportunities for student-led change.
Whether you’re interested in campaigning, strengthening your leadership skills, building connections with others, or learning how to make change happen, this session will provide a valuable introduction to an approach that has helped communities organise and win change across the UK and beyond.
All attendees will receive an SU badge and will be added into a prize draw to win an SU goodie bag, including a £50 Sunderland Gift Card.
