Hello everyone!
Welcome to another new academic chapter of my monthly blog, where I highlight some of the exciting activities and events hosted within our vibrant student community. October has been an incredible month filled with fun activities, celebrations and impactful discussions on campus. From training and celebrations to community building events, here are some key highlights:

Black History Month Celebration: BHM has been vibrant, engaging and impactful this year, with events focusing on the significance of Black History and their culture. Highlights included:
Nigerian Independence Day Celebration: In early October, we marked Nigerian Independence Day with a fantastic celebration that brought together students from Nigeria and friends across university communities. We shared stories, traditional music, dance and food, which created a meaningful cultural exchange that brought students closer as a community.
Unity in the Community – Sunderland Event: An event organised by Sunderland Ministers to celebrate the community in the wake of the widespread disorder during the summer. This was a collective effort in bringing people together to foster social connection, a reinforced multicultural community to inclusivity and harmonious community wellbeing in Sunderland.
