Hello everyone!
As we step into March, I want to take a moment to reflect on the collective strides we've made in February. The month of February has been packed with engagement, advocacy, and progress, all aimed at enhancing your student experience. From the vibrant energy of Refreshers Fair to our ongoing campaign for improved student transport services, your voices and participation continue to drive positive change.

February saw a fantastic Refreshers Fair, which brought together a diverse mix of students, societies, and student support services. The event was a huge success, offering students a chance to explore various extracurricular opportunities, meet new friends, and engage with university resources. From sports clubs to academic societies and career development services, the Fair provided an excellent networking and community building platform. I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who participated and made the event so memorable!
One of the key concerns raised by many students has been the accessibility and efficiency of the bus services to connect with the campuses and city centre. We have taken your feedback seriously and have been actively campaigning for bus service improvement.
Over the past week, we have had meaningful discussions with the university’s transport management team and bus operators (Nexus and GoNorth East). We are pleased to report that our collective efforts have resulted in positive steps towards service enhancement. While there is still work to be done, we remain committed to ensuring that student transportation effectively meet your needs.
