Here for the Holidays - Winter Break Information

Your University and city are here for you over the holidays, with fun activities and events, and support and motivation to help you to stay well during the winter break.

All the information you need about all these areas and more is available via the Here for the Holidays section of SharePoint, but you can check out a short summary below, as well as details of SU and University building closing times.

Here for the Holidays Activities

CitySpace is your key location on campus over the winter break - turn up, meet up and play! CitySpace will be open 21-23 December and 27-29 December between 10am-4pm. You can check out all the activities taking place during that time on the Here for the Holidays Activities section on SharePoint.

You can also join the 360Player app to get updates and take part in activities.

Support – Wellbeing Over Winter

As the festive season unfolds, don't navigate the challenges alone. Remember, your mental health is a gift to cherish, and your University Student Support team are here to offer you advice, support and guidance during this time.

  • You can contact the Wellbeing team for support over the holiday period by emailing wellbeing@sunderland.ac.uk and someone will reply to your email from 21 December – 2 January (excluding 25 and 26 December and 1 January) between 11am-1pm to offer you support.
  • The Out of Hours Team are also available over the holiday period and can be contacted each day between 6.30pm – 6.30am by calling: 0191 515 2451 should you need to speak to someone outside of the Wellbeing Team Christmas hours.   • If you’re on campus, the University Security Team can be reached on 0191 515 2028 (including out of normal hours).
