Your Student Voice Reps

London Student Voice Reps are paid students who represent their entire school academically at high-level meetings and committees between the University and the Students' Union.

It is a student leadership role designed to help students develop professionally while ensuring the student voice is heard.

Student Voice Reps play a vital role in improving the academic experience for all. They have the responsibility to:

  • BRIDGE THE GAP between Course Reps and staff, identifying trends and issues that affect the entire school.
  • ADVOCATE for student concerns, feedback, and opportunities.
  • SHAPE THE SCHOOL'S VISION for strong academic representation with your Programme Manager, London President, and Course Reps.
  • EXPAND INSIGHT into the school and wider university services, support, and departments to inform students of opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building relationships with Course Reps and ensuring they are trained, feel supported, and escalate any appropriate issues.
  • Attend regular meetings with different stakeholders at Your SU and University to represent and advocate for students.
  • Working with Programme Managers on relevant student communication about any updates happening in their school.

Applications are now open for Student Voice Representative positions across all courses at the University of Sunderland in London.

Student Voice Representatives play an important role in improving students' academic experience. They listen to students, gather feedback about their courses and represent their views to University staff and the Students’ Union.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather feedback from students about their course.
  • Represent students’ views at relevant meetings.
  • Communicate updates and outcomes to students.
  • Work with University staff and the Students’ Union to improve the student experience.
  • Encourage students to share their ideas, concerns and suggestions.

Successful Student Voice Representatives will receive training and support throughout the role. A £450 stipend is available, subject to successful completion of the responsibilities of the position.
