YOUR Students' Union is run by students for students. Our vision for our members is to provide each student with opportunities to grow, develop and achieve, throughout life. We want to make sure these experiences are valuable: to you, alumni, employers, and society more broadly; and that they encourage more equal access to jobs, and to roles in civil society.
We offer you high quality, social action opportunities on campus, in Sunderland and beyond. Get involved to gain new experiences, confidence, connections and skills for life. Whatever opportunities you take, as a Students’ Union volunteer you can expect training and support from the SU team to help you achieve your goals. Take action and get involved!
Are you looking for a meaningful way to engage with your community and make a positive impact? Look no further than our volunteering team at ICOS (International Community Organisation of Sunderland). We offer a variety of exciting roles that cater to your interests and passions.
If you're passionate about the environment, join our environmental activities at Backhouse Park and help improve the park by doing tasks like litter picking, weeding, and planting. Not only will you help keep your community clean and green, but you'll also learn about biodiversity and environmental issues.
For those who are interested in mental and emotional well-being, ICOS offers a chance to coordinate and participate in activities that help benefit mental health. Get creative and work with us to promote teamwork, positivity, and healthy habits.
If sports are more your thing, join the ICOS Sports activities team and coordinate weekly activities ranging from football, archery, bowling, and more. Get active, meet new people, and have fun while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
We have a new opportunity that has come up recently due to increasing client demands at the office, so we are looking for marketing and communications volunteers to help with taking calls and registering new clients, for a few hours per day.
Lastly, ICOS needs your help to prepare and run exciting workshops and events. From environmental workshops to celebration events, you'll have a chance to engage with your community and promote a positive impact.
As a volunteer, you'll benefit from training, reward schemes, travel reimbursement, and referrals. But the real reward is the chance to meet a diverse group of volunteers, make friends, upgrade your skills, and contribute to the development of your local community. So what are you waiting for?
Join our volunteering team today and make a difference!
