Your Student Voice Reps

Student Voice Reps are current students who represent an overall school (as opposed to individual programmes) at high-level meetings and committees at the University and Students' Union. Most work in pairs to make sure every voice is heard.

Group of Student Voice Reps in a meeting

  • Bridging the gap between Course Reps and staff, identifying trends and issues that affect the entire school
  • Advocating for student concerns and feedback
  • Shaping the school's vision for academic representation through regular meetings with the Head of School
  • Identifying and solving issues effectively
  • Gaining an overview of the entire University through meetings with Senior University Staff members

An SV Rep is a voluntary position, with an honorarium of £1,800, which will be paid in three instalments throughout the year.

To be eligible for the role, you must be a student enrolled in a programme of study at the University of Sunderland, within the School that is looking for its next Student Voice Representative.

Experience as a Course Rep is preferred, and a passion for representation and student voice is a must!

The next round of recruitment will take place in September 2025.
