SU Sightseeing: Join us for a trip to the British Museum!
Date: Thursday 3rd July 2025
Time: Meet at the SU Helpdesk on the 4th floor of HX4 at 12PM.
How to get there from campus (35 minutes):
- Get the DLR or walk to Canary Wharf.
- Use the Elizabeth Line (Westbound) to Tottenham Court Road.
- Use Google maps to British Museum (5 minute walk).
Important Information:
- All visitors must pass through a security check which involves a bag search.
- For everyone's safety, all bags, rucksacks, packages and personal items may be searched before entry.
- No large items of luggage can be brought into the Museum (bigger than 40cm x 40cm x 50cm and heavier than 8kg) or onto the premises.
- Students will be required to pay for their travel to and from the museum. Please consider if it is cheaper for you to meet us on campus or at the museum.
Photography:
- Hand-held flash photography and video recording is allowed in most galleries for private purposes only.
- Signs will indicate where photography is restricted.
- Tripods, monopods and selfie sticks may not be used inside the Museum building.
WIFI:
- Free wifi is available for all visitors to the Museum.
- Please connect to 'British Museum WiFi' only.
- You'll be required to supply your full name and email address before using the service.

By booking onto/attending an SU event, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions below.
For Your SU led events, ticket refunds are available on request to yoursuevents@sunderland.ac.uk.
Full refunds will be available within 14 days of the ticket booking date, unless the event is due to go ahead within 72 hours. This is to allow us to make the ticket available for resale. If a refund is requested more than 14 days after booking, or the event is taking place within 72 hours, a refund cannot be claimed.
Tickets are non transferable and cannot be re-sold. Any tickets that are found to be transferred or re-sold will not be valid. The only place you can buy a valid ticket for a Sunderland SU event is via our website.
Unless otherwise stated, participants are not permitted to attend with children due to safeguarding and risk assessment reasons.
Unless otherwise stated, our events are open to STUDENTS of the University of Sunderland ONLY.
