By Your SU
Sunderland Students’ Union is a student-led charitable organisation and we’re passionate about helping you to get the best out of your time at Sunderland. Our mission is to shape student lives for the future and we’re here to make sure that whatever you’re looking for out of your experience at the University of Sunderland, you can make it happen.
Here's a brief overview of everything we do! You can find out more about all of the following areas by exploring the rest of our website.

Reps
Reps are students who have a passion for representing your views to University staff and Your SU. With their constructive feedback, they help to bring about positive changes and create the best possible academic experience for everyone, at course and school level.
Course Reps represent your views on your course. Each Course Rep is responsible for a year group of their course or programme, working with their faculty staff to address student feedback.
Student Voice Reps represent a school’s overall student body. They take on board feedback and present student perspectives at high level University meetings.
Change It!
Got ideas to improve the experience of UoS students? Then help us Change It! You can submit an idea and if it gets enough support from your fellow students, we can help you make it happen! Head to our website to make a suggestion and vote on other students’ proposals.
You can also attend our Union Council meetings to discuss the changes you would like to see and give feedback to Your SU and Elected Officers.
Events
We run a range of events and activities throughout the year - on campus, in the city, and beyond!
Join us for one of our day trips, celebrate a cultural day with free food, or come along to a Movie or Games Night.
Advice and Support
We have a free and confidential Advice Service, independent from the University. The team can help with a range of academic issues and signpost to the right University services for wellbeing and other general support.
You can also sign up for an SU Buddy to help you begin your university journey. They are more experienced students who can help you settle in Sunderland. We’ll pair you up with a Buddy based on your course and interests.
