Hello everyone! As President: Wellbeing, the month of October has unfolded with lots of preparation, planning, and strategic initiatives, as I work towards my manifesto goals for the academic year.
One of the key moments of this month was the presentation of my manifesto to our Board of Trustees. This presentation helped to make sure everyone was on the same page and sought their professional support in their areas of expertise. Some of the matters discussed included the ongoing campaign for Free Period Products on campus and the Interfaculty Games, which continued with a Five-A-Side Football Tournament towards the end of the month.

To recap my manifesto points, I am committed to addressing the social stigma experienced by men, dismantling cultural barriers faced by international students, evaluating student awareness and use of Flying Start and Canvas, and fostering increased diversity within University support teams.
To achieve this, we have established a dedicated campaign group, comprising Senior Leaders from the University Management Team, Students’ Union, and the student body. During the last Union Council meeting, my manifesto received endorsement from council members. The campaign group will continue to meet to research, plan and run campaigns related to this manifesto throughout the year.
As we say goodbye to October, I am pleased by the progress that’s been made and the groundwork laid for an exciting academic year ahead.
Together, let us continue championing the cause of student wellbeing, diversity, and a thriving academic community.
