Hi everyone,
Welcome to my first blog on the academic year, where I'll be sharing more about what I've been up to so far and the priorities I'll be focusing on.
The new academic year kicked off with a lot of excitement as students returned to university and the campus came alive once again after the summer break. It was a busy season for the SU as usual as we coordinated Your Freshers with various activities to help new students settle in, providing a chance to meet peers and learn about campus facilities, societies, and academic expectations.

As an Officer, it was also a time to begin working on my priorities for the year. Since it's my first blog entry, this post will focus on discussing my priorities in greater detail. This academic year I am campaigning for the University to do the following:
Establish a student consultation framework to make sure that student opinions are considered in all University decisions, especially those which could affect the student experience. Active student participation in decisions that impact their academic journey helps to align institutional strategies and policies with the needs and expectations of the students. My goal is to work with key University members to enact this framework.
Standardise and improve the use of the module feedback form. The module feedback form or module evaluation questionnaire is one of the ways students can provide feedback to the University on their courses. This is supposed to be administered twice during the module; the data gathered from this exercise should inform module evaluation and improvement. However, there seems to be inconsistencies in the use of this feedback mechanism currently. I will conduct in-depth discussions with both students and staff to gain valuable insights and develop informed recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of this feedback system.
Place emphasis on PGT employability by increasing opportunities for industry experience, placements, and sector skill-sharing among postgraduate taught students. This enables post graduate students to gain valuable work experience throughout their programme, helping them gain practical skills and improving their readiness for the job market after graduation.
