We are pleased to announce the delegates who will be representing Sunderland Students' Union and our students at the NUS National Conference in April 2024.
Between Monday 27th - Wednesday 29th November, you voted to elect these representatives to attend next year’s National Union of Students (NUS) National Conference.
The National Union of Students (NUS) is an organisation of students' unions across the country. There are around 600 students' unions which are a part of the NUS, and we are one of them. Its main aim is to advocate for and represent the interests of university and college students across the country. The NUS works on a wide range of issues related to education, including tuition fees, student welfare, and academic standards.
As members of the NUS, we get to send delegates to their National Conference. The Conference occurs every year and is a chance for members to put forward what they would like the NUS to platform wider in their campaigns. Delegates get to discuss and vote, as well as submit their own motions. It is a way of making sure Sunderland students have a say in what student life should, and could, look like in the future.
