Elections for the Officer roles 2013/2014 have now been completed, but.........

Have you got loads of ambition, energy and drive?

Do you love everything about democracy?

Think you can listen, engage, apply and do something amazing for your fellow students?

Did you ever imagine you would learn, earn, act and deliver during your time as a student at University of Sunderland?

Then why not consider Elections in 2014!

The Students’ Union is run for students by students.  An annually elected Executive Committee of students (The Exec) works alongside a team of permanent staff who provide the skills and experience to deliver the Students’ Union services. The elections take place around Feb/March each year.

The Exec is made up of 9 Officers, with both paid (Sabbatical) and voluntary (Non-Sabbatical) roles available. See the job descriptions for full details and eligibility requirements.

If you are passionate about any of these areas then you should consider running for office:

  • Representing the student voice at the highest level
  • Improving the welfare of students at the University of Sunderland
  • Making fellow students feel welcomed, included, supported and valued
  • Tackling inequality and prejudice
  • Making sure fellow students have a range of social, sporting, voluntary and entertainment opportunities to help them make the most of their time at University of Sunderland

The Resources section contains official documents you may find useful to familiarize yourself with if you plan to run for office.

Interested and want to know more.......... check out the job descriptions for each of the roles.

Finally, make the most of the knowledge and experience of the Students’ Union team and check out the Contacts who are willing to give advice and help to anyone wanting to take part in the Student Elections.
